Whether its skiing, golfing, horseback riding, hiking, biking, fishing, rafting or shopping, there are activities for everyone in Red Lodge year round.
Spring and Fall
The Spring and Fall seasons in Red Lodge offer a very attractive atmosphere for quiet relaxation and showcase nature’s extraordinary changes in our beautiful mountain region.
From mid-April until the end of May, the Chateau Rouge reduces rates substantially to make it very easy to spend some time in Red Lodge. Try hiking alongside the many canyon drainages from the Beartooth Mountains with their cascading and roaring whitewater. Biking, early season fishing, and golf are also options. The best thing about spring is–there are no crowds!
Mid-September until mid-November is also a season for very low lodging rates. The Beartooth Pass, the great route to the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone Park is open until about October 15. Call ahead for current local road conditions.
Winter
Winter is an exciting time of year around Red Lodge with our local snow sports at Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort and Red Lodge Nordic Center. The Ski Resort has recently upgraded their snowmaking capabilities with 17 new snow guns. The Mountain has also added a Magic Carpet lift in the beginner area and improved their existing lifts. Not only does the mountain include 1,600 acres and nearly 73 trails, but being right next to the Beartooth Mountains, the views from Red Lodge Mountain are stunning.
